Scores Come After Evaluation Across Nine WMS Critical Capabilities

Softeon scored well in the 2018 Critical Capabilities for Warehouse Management Systems report from Gartner.*

Gartner notes that “Supply chain and IT leaders can use this Critical Capabilities research as part of an evaluation of WMS products. The evaluation is based on what Gartner considers to be the nine key differentiating functional capabilities evaluated across four major use cases of warehouse and distribution center operational complexity.”

Softeon, a top global provider of WMS, Distributed Order Management (DOM) and other supply chain software solutions, was the second-ranked WMS provider in each of the following use cases: Level 2/3 Warehouse Operations, Level 4 Warehouse Operation, and Level 5 Warehouse Operation – the most complex – based on Gartner’s warehouse stratification model.

“Softeon has long been known for its robust and innovative functionality in WMS and beyond,” notes Dan Gilmore, Chief Marketing Officer at Softeon. “We believe that the results of the Gartner analysis, after an extremely rigorous and detailed process, validate our position as a WMS industry capabilities leader for the wide range of DC operational complexities.”

Gilmore added that, “Advanced functionality is a key element in our track record of 100% deployment success and highly satisfied customers – a pedigree we feel no other WMS provider can match. Softeon delivers success – every time.”

Softeon’s advanced WMS capabilities include task optimization, order picking, e-fulfillment, labor and resource management, advanced cartonization and pallet building, powerful kitting and assembly, along with materials handling and ERP integration. Softeon WMS powers many great logistics performers including The Honest Company, Sears Home Services, DB Schenker, Casey’s General Stores, Lenova, Denso, and Suncast.

Softeon continues to “up the ante” with its Distribution Center of the Future innovation lab, which has already lead to the release of the new Order Fulfillment System (OFS), a unique and powerful solution that directly manages a variety of picking subsystems (smart carts, Voice, pick-to-light, put walls, mobile robots, etc.) without the need for any third-party control systems.

This system significantly reduces hardware costs for Softeon customers and eliminates the need for interfaces from the WMS to these proprietary control systems. More importantly, it allows Softeon to apply advanced order planning logic in combination with sophisticated slotting and replenishment planning and execution to drive double-digit gains in picking efficiency –  critical to keeping e-fulfillment costs under control.

This is all available on Softeon’s market-leading integrated software platform, based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), a single data model across the entire suite, delivering fully web-native and Cloud-ready solutions that can be easily configured to meet customer-specific processing requirements without the need for modifications. Softeon WMS is the richest in functionality and flexibility – right “out-of-the-box.”
