Project Methodology

The Softeon implementation project methodology forms part of the Business Process Improvement practices that have been developed through many years of experience with successfully deploying solutions across a breadth of industry verticals and environments. The successful delivery of a Softeon solution involves the alignment of business strategy, technology tools and processes, and business process change management. We recognize that the methodology should be adapted to fit the requirements of each specific project, since projects may vary in scale and complexity, requiring unique approaches.

Softeon's Deployment Stage Overview

The Deployment Stage

The Softeon Project Methodology breaks down the deployment stage into five phases, underpinned by a series of tracks. The specific tracks are updated to reflect each project environment and implementation scope. Shown at left is a typical high level warehouse management system implementation approach.

The Project Phases

Mobilize Project: A set of initiation and planning processes that refine and confirm the project scope, business objectives and value targets, as well as a detailed schedule for the phases, the staff of the project team, definition and set up of the working environment, and definition of any relevant operational procedures, such as team communications internally and with other stakeholders.

Analysis & Design: An analysis of the current "as-is" processes and design of the future "to-be" processes. The essential deliverables from this phase are detailed statements regarding which business issues are to be addressed, the value associated with each of them, what the solution enablers are and how they are going to executed. In addition, it is vital that the connection between the targeted business issues and the solution design requirements/project deliverables be fully understood and agreed to by the project team and all other relevant stakeholders.

Implement Solution: The requirements and design configuration that are included in the software solution. Softeon will conduct 2-3 solution review workshops to obtain customer feedback. This data will be incorporated into the solution that will be delivered for UAT (User Acceptance Testing). The essential deliverable from this phase is a high-quality, fully functional solution that A) meets the requirements agreed upon in the previous phase, and B) has already been unit tested and is ready for user acceptance testing.

Customer Acceptance: Consists of the user testing of the solution, in accordance with agreed-upon acceptance test criteria, prior to "live" deployment. The essential deliverable from this phase is agreement from the users that the production-ready solution they have is ready for deployment, will resolve the target business issues, and will enable them to deliver the desired value.

Production Deployment: The solution is deployed into the production environment and transitioned to ongoing support services (the Softeon Customer Support organization). The key deliverable from this phase is a fully supported solution in production, with all required data conversion completed, which is then used on a continual basis by the targeted user community.
